About me
Hello everyone! I'm Hongyi Li, a Ph.D. student specializing in statistics, and I am interested in applying statistical methods to deep learning. Through this personal homepage, I hope to share insights into my research, from theoretical explorations to hands-on projects and collaborations.
About Mochi group
Mochi group consists of members from all over the world, from different professional backgrounds, but all with a strong interest in data science. We focus on exploring applications of data science in medicine, epidemiology, geography and sociology, with our main research methods revolving around Bayesian and machine learning algorithms. Members have led and participated in a number of research endeavors, and cumulatively have received funding from a number of research foundations to date, including the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (UK), the Royal Society (UK), the European Research Council (ERC), the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BGMF), the Scottish Foundation (SFT), and the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) of China, to name just a few. We hope to turn our research results into products that can really contribute to society.
About Center for Data Science in Zhejiang University
Center for Data Science in Zhejiang University, founded on May 18, 2017, is a university-level academic and innovative research institution focusing on the theory and application of big data and talent training with statistics, applied mathematics, computer science and management as the core support disciplines. The research center emphasizes the cross-fertilization with economics, medicine, life science, sociology, engineering and other disciplines, and focuses on the transformation of scientific and technological achievements while obtaining the fruit of basic research. The center focuses on the training of talents for market and industrial needs, focusing on the training of research and technical talents, and at the same time vigorously cultivates composite data science talents through the formation of interdisciplinary and cross-field teaching and research faculties. The direction of the center includes researching theories and methods of data science; developing tools and algorithms for analyzing massive and high-dimensional data, and then providing directions for application and management; setting up a teaching platform for data science, and cultivating international high-end talents in related fields. The research center is committed to facing the strategic forward-looking issues and social needs of big data, providing a platform for channeled and organized cooperation among different disciplines, gathering and cultivating first-class talents in data science, and building a high-quality and high-efficiency platform for research and innovation in core technologies and theories of data science.
